Invented and created by River.se for KLM, the flag carrier airline of the Netherlands, Travel Predictions is a service that offers travel inspirations by scientifically predicting individual future travel destinations.

What KLM Travel Predictions does is simple. By scanning your Facebook actions and history, matching them with these of your friends and with thousands of events happening all around the world, KLM is able to serve you with strikingly unique, personal and fun predictions.

KLM Travel Predictions uses information that is available about us online, to actually predict where we will travel next. The service scan our interest-graph on Facebook, include our friends and match the results against a database with thousands of events taking place at hundreds of locations all around the world.

The experience is instant, entertaining, inspiring and magical. The app itself was successfully tested in 12 countries : US, UK, Ireland, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Norway, Swede, Denmark, Finland and Italy. Since April 2012, Travel Predictions also launched in Romania and 10 other new markets such as Brasil, Canada, South Africa, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic.

Rather than creating “another” social media campaign, KLM wanted to make a digital product based on social that could live on and eventually generate sales. The service is launched in 25 markets and is now earning revenue from actual sales.
