Launched on December 2013, Birdbnb is the first integrated marketing campaign of Airbnb, a short term property rental site.
As part on the integrated campaign strategy, a site “Birdbnb.com” has been developed as the online digital presence of the campaign. The site features several creative showcase of the variety of homes available on Airbnb. Visitors can move through the various birdhouses and see the actual human homes that they were based on. Audio is tied in nicely with interviews of the key creative team, and several videos complement the main message with behind-the-scenes video of the New Orleans installation, the workshop’s creative process, and the music contributed by musician Zach Shields.
According Airbnb, no creatures on earth travel quite like birds do. They soar the skies, then land in new places. They see the world from a different perspective, one to which all real travelers aspire. Therefore, Airbnb use bird as analogy for the ultimate traveler.
