As remote work is here to stay, Nissan combine it with the recent trend of camper vans into a concept van, the NV350 Caravan Office Pod.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the camper van sales have skyrocketed. Working remotely is also the other trend that rise as workers are get used to work in their home office. Nissan took these two recent trend and combine it into a concept van. An office on wheels that may fit with digital nomads.
The NV350 Office Pod is just one of several concept vehicles Nissan has debuted for the virtual 2021 Tokyo Auto Salon. It is a full concept office on wheels with the sole purpose of serving as, well, a mobile office. The van has all the tools needed for any remote worker, including a workstation and coffee maker.
According to Nissan, the NV350 Office Pod is more than a workstation. It’s a fully mobile van with just enough creature comforts to make a day at the office feel like a quiet vacation.
The van, a Nissan NV350 Caravan, features an office desk and chair, though it can slide in and out of the back of the van, giving workers an open-air working experience when it’s extended. It stows away inside when needed.
On top of the Office Pod is a balcony that’s accessible from the interior. Official video show off a large lounge space, a patio recliner, and a sizable umbrella. The van also features a golf ball-like exterior with a scallop-like pattern along its sides, which sits above the slightly widened fender extensions.
As the return to offices still on hold, the Nissan NV350 Office Pod concept van might be the perfect fit for anyone looking for a change of views throughout the work week.
