Tourism Ireland is wishing the world a Happy St Patrick’s Day 2021, wherever you are across the globe.
Debuted on March 11, 2021, the ‘Happy St Patrick’s Day’ campaign is the new campaign of Tourism Ireland, as part of a global celebration of Irish culture that takes place annually on March 17.
St. Patrick’s Day itself observes of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The holiday has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green.
The celebration of St Patrick’s Day 2021 will be very different this year. Despite of that, Tourism Ireland aims to capitalise on the heightened exposure for the island of Ireland around the globe on 17 March, to ensure that Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland remain ‘top of mind’ as a great holiday destination for bookings when the time is right.
As part of the campaign, Tourism Ireland has created several short film, featuring the voice of the famous actor Liam Neeson, that includes wonderful footage shot around Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland – at locations like Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, Titanic Belfast, Kilkenny Castle, Newgrange and Dingle.
The footage is interwoven with images from Tourism Ireland’s Global Greening initiative, which sees famous landmarks and iconic sites illuminated in green each year on St Patrick’s Day.
Tourism Ireland also aim to bring some positivity and hope to its Diaspora across the globe. At a time when people living overseas cannot travel home, Tourism Ireland want to give the Diaspora a sense of connection with home and remind them that Ireland cannot wait to welcome them back, as soon as it is possible to do so.
