Beyond Expectations, Branding Campaign by Westchester County Tourism and Film Office

The campaign that centered on a tourist setting designed for safe fun and social distancing.

Introduced for the first time on January 2020, Beyond Expectations is the latest brand tourism destination campaign of Westchester.

Launched by Westchester County Tourism and Film Office, Beyond Expectations campaign is proved to be perfectly timed, and its not because the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beyond Expectations branding campaign was built around highlighting Westchester’s natural beauty and stunning vistas, its nearly 50,000 acres of open space and parkland. The campaign itself is centered on a tourist setting designed for safe fun and social distancing.

According Westchester County Tourism and Film Office, the outdoors is what makes Westchester special as a getaway for New Yorkers or for people visiting the city. Therefore, the Beyond Expectations campaign illustrates the quality of life and what makes people want to come and live in Westchester.

A Breath of Fresh Air in Westchester, 15s video campaign

Westchester also has plenty of other attractions, from Rye Playland, Grand Prix New York Racing & Entertainment in Mount Kisco and the Legoland Discovery Center in Yonkers to historic mansions, such as Lyndhurst (the Jay Gould Estate) and Kykuit (the John D. Rockefeller estate). There are places for live music (the Capitol Theatre, the Caramoor Center for Music and Arts), live theater (Arc Stages, the Axial Theatre, the Hudson Stage Company) and art-house films (the Jacob Burns Film Center, the Pelham Picture House and the Bedford Playhouse). All of the attractions are the ingredients of $2 billion tourism industry.

The Westchester county also has embraced restoring funds to the Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center. The county helps run the farm and center, which is dedicated to the development and advancement of sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. With the county being home to a beef farm and an alpaca farm, this could be use as a Westchester Makers component to promote local tourism.

Westchester County Tourism and Film Office is expected that tourism numbers to rebound during the spring and summer. As part of the branding campaign, the county has launched a new initiative, Westchester with Care, in which local businesses and organizations pledge a commitment to smart and safe practices and protocols.
