#LetsGoDoSomething, Summer Marketing Campaign by Tourism Abbotsford

Domestic campaign of Tourism Abbotsford to raise awareness of the city as well as to rebuild the local tourism industry.

Launched on mid of June 2021, “Let’s Go Do Something” is Tourism Abbotsford’s summer campaign that aimed to raise awareness of all that the city has to offer, from local wineries and breweries to outdoor adventures and family fun.

According to Tourism Abbotsford, the “Let’s Go Do Something” campaign invites visitors from across British Columbia (BC) to experience Abbotsford’s ever-changing handmade and homegrown experiences, where farm meets table, spirit meets nature, and travellers meet the cultivated city.

After 15 months of dwindling activity, Tourism Abbotsford believes in the potential for a solid summer. With the end of the pandemic appearing to be within sight and vaccination rates increasing, Tourism Abbotsford has a simple message to visitors and locals: Let’s go do something.

Under the hashtag #LetsGoDoSomething, the summer marketing cammpaign is also to encourage the residents out into the community to try new things and rebuild the local tourism sector.

As part of the #LetsGoDoSomething campaign, series of videos, blogs and local influencers will share their experiences of visiting Abbotsford. A giveaway, open to anyone, will also award winners a two-night stay in an Abbotsford hotel and $500 spending money.

Tourism Abbotsford also provided suggested itineraries that themed by outdoor adventures, farm excursions, seasonal sips at wineries, cideries and breweries, boutique shopping, and local eats, and arts and culture.

Some events also planned to return this summer and believes that will be a big factor in a bounce-back summer. To heat up the summer, starting July 23, the Friday evening Sun & Soil Concert Series returns for its second year, showcasing a diverse mix of local musicians in stellar locations.

Abbotsford International Airshow also planned to return on August 6 – 8, 2021, with a Skydrive theme with attendees remaining in their vehicles or relaxing in lawn chairs. The skies will be active for 3.5 hours per day with evening fireworks planned on August 6 and August 7, 2021, and daytime performances on August 7 and August 8, 2021.

Tourism Abbotsford also announces a Taste of Abby running from September 17 – 25, 2021. Closing the summer season, plans include launching with a food and entertainment night festival and ending with a long table dinner. Details will be announced throughout the summer.
